~ AU where Pepper and Phil take over the world. Kind of like super-villains, only not evil. C’mon, they’d be awesome! 

… Could they also be evil?

Well sure, of course they could. I just kind of see that as too cliche for them, personally — I mean, “evil super-villains trying to take over the world” is the trope, right? But I see them as farrrrr more sophisticated and clever than that, maybe everyone just thinks they’re evil but they’re not? Or maybe no one actually realizes they’ve taken over the world? I guess that was kind of where I taking the idea.

But evil Phil and Pepper would be truly stunning, I do admit. 

It starts while Phil is in recovery. Pepper visits him and they talk about things. They’re both people who have an understanding of security and weaponry. They joke about the military trying to confiscate some research because it’s really so easy to just take something if you want it.

It starts as a thought exercise. Phil is good with computers (he can override JARVIS, and JARVIS is unlike anything else out there). Pepper is good with information and people and loopholes. Phil comments that she’d make a good agent. Pepper comments that he wouldn’t be too shabby in corporate espionage. It hangs between them that they have all the skills needed to be something else.

It starts as a joke, a fun way to spend an afternoon, a little secret plan that they never expected to get away with. But once it starts, it’s simply too fun to stop.
