Resentment of the Day: On Fake Geek Girls
YouTuber albinwonderland speaks out against the Idiot Nerd Girl meme in response to the recent buzz surrounding the “fake geek girls” phenomenon.
Guys take a minute to go thank albinwonderland for putting herself out there to talk about this. Lots of girls do but I think we should go THANK THEM MORE OFTEN because the abuse they are getting is frightening. (link: tw abuse, trigger warning)
I love how guys are being horrifying to her on her video and denying the existence of sexism while being utterly misogynistic and disgusting to her.

So the reason I haven’t been posting much art lately is because I’ve been working on this project! Believe it or not, my Avenger dresses got me noticed by Big Fish, a casual gaming company based in Seattle. They hired me to design outfits for girls inspired by video game characters— they’re going to make posters that’ll be given out at Geek Girl Con! :D

And yes, I’m revealing my Real Life Identity by linking this, but it was kind of a done deal once my mum started linking to the Avengers dresses at her workplace. Lol.
